The Tek-Tanks AXYZ 4000 series CNC machine now has spare capacity due to our in-house increased workflow. This spare capacity has enabled us to offer a sub contract machining service in a wide variety of materials.
If you think you have a requirement for the CNC then it is probably best to just give us a ring on 01420 525477 so we can talk through your requirements and come up with the best solution that meets your needs.

We are pleased to announce the results of our WIN A BOTTLE OF BUBBLY competition.
The total volume of tanks we have built in 2012 was 39,300 litres. We had some good entries and were amazed at how close some of them were. We are happy to announce that the winner is Mr John Douch with his closest estimate 39,311 litres.
Thank you to everyone who took a part and congratulations to the winner.

METS 2012 Amsterdam

METS is the world’s largest exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry. This year the show celebrates its 25th anniversary! METS 2012 will be held on 13-14-15 November in the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre in the Netherlands.

We will be exhibiting at METS for the second time this year. You can find us at Stand 404 in Hall 03 (floor plan). Our team will be more than happy to answer all your questions.

Paul and Rachael Chandler’s Fridge Box

Tek-Tanks were recently asked by Sam Proctor from the Proctor Group to manufacture a fridge box for his customer who turned out to be Paul and Rachel Chandler of Somali pirate fame.
They are planning to continue their voyage this year with a Tek-Tanks fridge liner on board.

The couple spent 388 days in captivity after armed raiders boarded their 38ft yacht, Lynn Rival, as they sailed from the Seychelles to Tanzania in notoriously dangerous waters.

The retired pair, from Tunbridge Wells in Kent, were released in November 2010 after a ransom was paid.

The Proctor Group provided a space age insulation for the box called Spacetherm which is available in thicknesses ranging from 5 to 40mm. For more information please visit http://www.proctorgroup.com/

The whole unit was then covered in a membrane to contain the insulation by Aim Developments who can be found at http://www.aim-developments.co.uk/

The Tek-Tanks Team up with Landau UK

Landau UK, based in Southampton have converted an ex Formula 1 Hospitality Unit into the interior of a luxury yacht and fitted it with over 150 of the latest marine products & systems to personalise, upgrade and care for any boat. They are now touring the UK with demonstration equipment, including the light display tank supplied by Tek-Tanks.

Blue Marlin Renovation Project

The history begins in 1930s Gosport, Hampshire, England, where renowned naval architect Charles E. Nicholson designed and built a 12-metre racing boat.

Originally the Blue Marlin’s name was Hurricane. She was manufactured for actress Marlene Dietrich’s female lover Marion Barbara “Betty” Carstairs.
Unfortunately she declined to accept the “Hurricane” and sold her immediately after the boat was delivered. The yacht eventually ended up in Italian hands while being kept in Izola on the Adriatic coast of Slovenia, she began to fall into disrepair, eventually sitting disused in a harbour for several years. A Finnish banker and sailor, Henrik Andersin, found and bought the vessel, which was carefully transported from Slovenia to Finland in 2006. In its new home, the Blue Marlin is being restored to her former glory.

Traka Sport Challenge

Traka Sport are participating in the 2012 Round Britain Powerboat Race, which begins 21 June 2012. 1702 nautical miles of offshore racing around Britain! The race will entail a complete circumnavigation of Britain, making it, without doubt, the toughest endurance powerboat race in the world!

We are proud to be chosen by Traka Sport to provide a fluro coated petrol tank for their RB12 (pictured below).

Floating Berthing Dock Project

We are pleased to announce our involvement in a project with the University of Southampton.

The project is built on the innovatve concept of a Floating Berthing Dock for mid size racing yachts.

The primary purpose for the device is to create a working platform to facilitate the repair and maintenance of yachts. The dock will have
a displacement of 7 tones and capability of lifting yachts about 2 meters above the water.

All other project details are kept strictly confidential. We can only say that we will be supporting this project by supplying our plastic tanks.

The photographs below show two pairs of tanks supplied by Tek-Tanks for the Floating Berthing Deck Project.

The University of Southampton and the design team reserve all the intellectual property rights associated with the idea.
