ALL DRAWINGS SHOW
Salt/Raw/Flotation water used for flushing, via inlet seacock
(H) - flushing water can alternatively be from the onboard
fresh water supply. This is preferable, if practical, to avoid
introducing dirty, oily or smelly flushing water to the toilet.
Also, salt water often causes serious scaling problems inside
plumbing. Toilets designed to pump their own flushing water
must be supplied by a separate dedicated connection to the
fresh tank. They can not be connected into a pressurised water
system. Ensure a syphon break is installed when drawing from
a fresh water tank.
HOLDING TANK PLUMBING
See diagrams below for systems to suit most requirements.
If Holding Tank is above the waterline a pump may not be necessary
for discharge to sea. (Open seacock to drain, close to hold).
Also open seacock to allow discharge to sea, via the tank,
direct from toilet. Tank outlet must be installed at bottom
of tank and the plumbing fall continuously to seacock.
NOTES
1. When Inlet or Outlet Hoses are plumbed overboard,
below-waterline and terminating inboard, below- waterline,
they must be looped above the waterline to prevent syphoning.
2. One cubic foot contains 6 gallons. One gallon weighs 10
lbs.
3. Be sure to use SANITATION GRADE HOSE and Stainless Steel
hose clips.
4. Hose connections should be fitted into the top of the tank
if possible. Outlet fittings having standpipes to the tank
base.
5. Breather vent plumbing must be 38mm (1 1/2") bore mm.
6. Rinse out plumbing, deck to tank, is usually 19mm (3/4")
but other plumbing must be 38mm (1 1/2") (other than macerator
outlet at 25mm)
ABOVE WATERLINE DRAWINGS:
An anti syphon loop is shown for the toilet discharge plumbing
on above waterline installations. This is included to prevent
residue water in the bowl being syphoned out. This water is
required to maintain a wet landing area and water seal. In
some above waterline installations this anti-syphon loop may
not be required, in particular as Drawing 3.
Fittings shown into tank side for diagram clarity. In practice,
tank top connections are preferable. The discharge connection
having a stand pipe down to the tank bottom.
