Activated Carbon Filters
Activated Carbon filters are perfect for many air purification applications including holding tanks in boats, vehicles, trains and domestic installations.
Wherever you wish to eliminate an odour from a waste holding tank or toilet system then Activated Carbon filters are the answer.
Activated Carbon is made from a wide variety of materials including coconut shell, wood and coal. Once processed, each gram of activated carbon has a surface area in excess of 3,000 m2 (32,000 sq ft).
This massive area of fine carbon traps unwanted molecules which cause the unpleasant smells often associated with holding tanks and toilet systems.
Most Activated Carbon filters for use with holding tanks are suitable for 1 ½” (38mm) sanitation hose although there are others which will accept smaller diameter hose.
1 ½” is the marine industry standard and all filters with an 1 ½” inlet and outlet will comply with ISO 8099, a standard used in the manufacture of boats throughout the UK and the rest of Europe.
Venting a tank high up a mast or in the anchor locker is a thing of the past. Tek Tanks Pong-Go will allow you to vent directly overboard through a skin fitting or shell vent close to the tank and avoiding any long pipe runs.
Pong-Go is also at home on RV vehicles, trailers and many more commercial and domestic applications.
Fitting a filter could not be simpler. Just connect your vent hose to the inlet and outlet of the unit with jubilee clips, making sure that the filter element can be easily removed and replaced.
Filters must be kept free of any water or tank effluent as this will seriously affect or possibly ruin the filter and it will have to be replaced.
