With a supported tank height of 150–2000 mm, the sender can be installed on a wide range of tanks. Automatic tank-height detection makes setup straightforward, while the Simarine Connect app allows the sender to be configured and calibrated wirelessly via Bluetooth.

Because the sensor never comes into contact with the liquid, there are no moving parts, that could potentially get stuck and fail.

Which STR Sender Do I Need?

Both sender versions use the same radar measurement technology. The main difference is how the tank level information is delivered.

STR1 – Analogue

The STR1 is designed to work with existing analogue gauges and monitoring systems. It provides multiple analogue outputs, including 0–190 Ω, 240–30 Ω and 0–5 V, as well as Bluetooth connectivity for setup and configuration through the Simarine Connect app.

The STR1 is designed as a straightforward replacement or upgrade for conventional analogue tank senders. It supports common analogue resistance and voltage outputs, making it suitable for integration with existing gauges and monitoring equipment:

STR2 – NMEA 2000

The STR2 is the ideal choice for modern marine electronics using an NMEA 2000 network. It connects directly to the NMEA 2000 backbone and can provide tank level information to compatible chartplotters, multifunction displays and other NMEA 2000 equipment. Bluetooth connectivity is also included for configuration through the Simarine Connect app.

STR2 NMEA 2000

For boats equipped with modern NMEA 2000 electronics, the STR2 provides a direct digital solution.

The STR2 connects to the vessel’s NMEA 2000 backbone and communicates tank level information using the NMEA 2000 standard. Tank information can therefore be displayed on compatible marine electronics such as chartplotters and multifunction displays.

Analogue displays are not compatible with STR2 NMEA 2000 option.

STR tank adapter (Metal tanks)

For metal tank installations, a suitable radar waveguide/adapter is required. The Simarine STR adapter provides a mounting solution for appropriate metal tank installations.
