    The Simarine STR1 and STR2 are advanced radar-based tank-level senders designed to measure liquid levels without being in contact with the contents.

    The STR1 and STR2 make tank level monitoring simple.

    Mounted on top of the tank, the STR sender uses high-precision radar to measure through plastic tank lids, eliminating the need for internal probes or moving parts.

    Suitable for fresh water, diesel, petrol, grey water, and waste, the STR series provides reliable tank-level information.

    With a supported tank height of 150–2000 mm, the sender can be installed on a wide range of tanks. Automatic tank-height detection makes setup straightforward, while the Simarine Connect app allows the sender to be configured and calibrated wirelessly via Bluetooth.

    Because the sensor never encounters the liquid, there are no moving parts, that could potentially get stuck and fail.

    Which STR Sender Do I Need?

    Both sender versions use the same radar measurement technology. The main difference is how the tank level information is delivered.

    STR1 – Analogue

    The STR1 is designed to work with existing analogue gauges and monitoring systems. It provides multiple analogue outputs, including 0–190 Ω, 240–30 Ω and 0–5 V, as well as Bluetooth connectivity for setup and configuration through the Simarine Connect app.

    Simple Installation

    Installing the STR sender is designed to be quick and straightforward.

    The sender is mounted to the top of the tank, and the signal passes through the plastic

    For a typical installation:

    1. Clean and dry the mounting surface.
    2. Position the STR sender on top of the tank.
    3. Connect the power and output wiring.
    4. Open the Simarine Connect app and connect via Bluetooth.
    5. Enter the tank information and configure the sender.
    6. Calibrate the tank level and volume.

    The app provides configuration and calibration directly from your smartphone, allowing the sender to be set up without complicated programming or specialist equipment.

    Bluetooth configuration

    The STR1 and STR2 is configured using the free Simarine Connect app.

    Bluetooth allows you to connect to the sender from your smartphone and configure important settings including the tank name, tank height, units, volume and tank type.

    The tank volume curve can also be fine-tuned using the app, allowing the measurement to better reflect the actual shape and capacity of the tank.
